About the Focal Performance PS 130F

Focal has never been one to sit on their laurels. Their pursuit of sonic perfection has led them to an unexpected discovery. Flax fibers, at half the weight of fiberglass, are very rigid and lightweight speakers.
This one-of-a-kind cone is made by sandwiching a sheet of hollow flax fibers between two layers of glass fibers, resulting in a colorful, precise speaker that eliminates unwelcome vibrations.

The Expert Series PS 130F  system from Focal blends flax 5-1/4″ woofers with tweeters and flexible crossovers.
Tweeters’ inverted dome mimics woofer-style sound dispersion, scattering high frequencies in a massive pattern to generate an extremely realistic soundstage. The tweeters may be surface-mounted by Focal or flush-mounted for a more discrete appearance in your vehicle.

A Sound System to Dream of PS 130 F

Included crossover networks in this system provide tweeter-level changes. Allows you to create an accurate, dynamic stereo picture in your vehicle.
Quality components of the crossover provide a seamless transition between the tweeter and woofer. Avoiding “hot spots” and dropouts in your tracks. These speakers can accommodate up to 60 watts RMS and would benefit greatly from being powered by an amplifier.

SO ORIGINAL PS 130 F FLAX CONE

The flax cone is made in France exclusively by Focal since 2013. With their original design, the cone is entirely oriented towards acoustic performance. They are made of high-quality flax fiber enclosed by two thin layers of glass fiber. F cone is characterized by its natural sound, with low coloration. Their richness of reproduction in the midrange register, and their tighter bass. The lightness of the fiber satisfies the criteria of high internal damping, high velocity, and high flexural rigidity. Flax is twice as light as fiberglass because the fiber is hollow. It also has very low elasticity which makes it ideal to increase the flexural rigidity of a sandwich structure.
