Description
ODX – DRL DECODER
SMART DECODER H4 (BOX OF 2)
When the vehicle’s computer conducts a verification of the original bulbs. The ODX – DECOH4 smart decoder is used to notify the driver of the fault via a display in the vehicle’s dashboard. The smart decoder, like the DRL decoder, allows a “pulsed” current (as seen in the diagram to the left) to provide a steady current from the car machine to the LED bulb. This is common in American vehicles such as Ram and JEEP for instance.
PRODUCT KEY POINT
WHY USE AN INTELLIGENT DECODER AND IN WHAT SITUATIONS
- Allows control of the manufacturer’s anomaly detectors.
- Allows stabilizing power from the car’s computer to the LED bulb.
- Stabilizes the output voltage to +/- 2%. With identical connectors to those used by manufacturers which allow quick and easy installation.
- The operating capacity of 8-24v dc. In a robust water-resistant box superior to ip68 standards.
IN WHICH CASE A DRL DECODER WILL NOT BE THE SOLUTION FOR YOUR PROBLEM
Some American vehicles (Cherokee, 300, Charger). Some Mercedes-Benz vehicles are more responsive to bulb charge variations than the majority of manufacturers. If your original bulb has 55 watts and your ODX LED bulb has 30 watts, the machine can detect a 25-watt loss and turn on a burnt bulb signal on the dashboard. During an automatic test, the light circuit in some cases, such as American models, can shut down after a few days.
Even though the Intelligent ODX – DRL DECODER adds 5 watts to the circuit for a total of 35 watts and works in most situations, as a result, the vehicles mentioned above are more responsive because the difference is still too great. In this case, you’ll need to use the relays with capacitor and the Add-a-circuit option, as well as our ODX 55w resistor sets. If you have any additional concerns, please contact your representative.
