ADVANCED TREAD COMPOUND

Silica is equally distributed throughout the tread compound for improved winter handling. This prevents the tire from hardening at low temperatures.

The combination of circumferential grooves and wide lateral grooves effectively evacuates slush from the tread for increased traction.

3D interlocking multi-wave sipes provide extra biting edges for traction in wet and icy conditions. The design increases block rigidity for less deformation. This increases traction while decreasing irregular wear.

The Nitto NT90W was introduced as the company’s first winter tire in 2014, and it is designed to provide good grip and handling in harsh winter conditions. Nitto’s studless winter tire, designed for coupe, sedan, minivan, crossover, and smaller SUV drivers, makes use of emerging technologies to create a more than capable snow tire.

Nitto has engineered one of the more unique treads compounds you’ll find with the NT90W. Not only is the compound silica-infused for increased traction on snow and ice, but Nitto has added crushed walnut shells and bamboo charcoal as well. What?
