Crystal-Clear Focal 165 W-RC Beryllium Tweeter

To push high-frequency replication to the next stage, Focal employs their iconic Beryllium tweeter. Beryllium can cost 100 times its weight in gold, but the advantages outweigh the costs. This material, which is lighter and more stable than titanium and aluminum, imparts the smoothness of a silk tweeter to your music while maintaining the precision and extended response typically associated with a high-quality metal tweeter. These tweeters pull out all the little things that make you sound like you’re really there.

Hand-Made Focal 165 W-RC Woofer Cones

The woofer was designed with a patented foam core laminated on both sides with thin sheets of glass fabric by Focal. Focal also adjusts the foam core thickness to ensure that the woofer’s playback is absolutely accurate over the entire sonic range.

The aluminum alloy basket has an open back to keep the internal workings of the woofer cool and to keep any trapped air from interacting with the cone’s motion. Focal also features audiophile-grade external crossovers for the smoothest possible transition between tweeters and woofers, removing frequency response peaks and dips that can make the music sound fake.
