General Tire EXCLAIM HPX A/S
As the EXCLAIM HPX A/S is the ultra-superb summer driving tire of General Tire, the Exclaim UHP offers inexpensive sports coupes and sedans in modern tires.
The first thing you find is the violent nature of the lateral tread. A silica tread compound of the latest generation and larger shoulder blocks improve handling and angulation on dry and wet surfaces.
Dual-V treading patterns, which drive more water away from the tire, are improving wet road handling. The risk of hydroplaning is reduced and you remain on the road safer.
In the tread, two stainless steel bands are spirally bound on polyester bowls with jointless nylon to provide more protection and strength during higher-speed driving. They help also improve the wear and riding condition of the pneumatic tires.
The General Exclaim is marked with the M+S brand, which means that the tire meets or exceeds the minimum requirements for mud and snow. That said, in snow or icy weather, we do not recommend driving this tire.
Pros
- Longer tread life than most in this class
- Dry and wet surface traction is excellent
- Very good riding comfort and low road noise
- A high-performance tire that is budget-friendly
Cons
- Would like to see a bit stiffer sidewall for more spirited high-speed cornering
Overview of EXCLAIM HPX A/S
With its lower cost than any other comparable tire in this segment. EXCLAIM HPX A/S definitely fulfills a need in high-performance summer pneumatics. It is good to see that the cheaper price is not at the cost of good traction and handling. It works well, even though we like to see more rigidity in the sidewall.
Without any traffic noise, you should expect a smooth journey. Treadlife is fine, and the majority of drivers are about 30,000 miles away from this tire. For most drivers, all in all, is a good choice.
