Signs You May Need An Oil Change

Ford Motor Company generally recommends getting an oil change every 7,500 miles or 8,000 kilometers or every six months, whichever comes first. If you drive your vehicle under tougher conditions, you should change your oil and filter more frequently.

Myth: Full synthetic oil is not good for high mileage cars or older vehicles. The myth is rooted in the idea that synthetic oil is “slippier”—lower in viscosity, or not as compatible with seals and will therefore leak or leak more in places conventional oil might not. Again, completely untrue.

60k Service should be performed on your vehicle at about 60,000 miles. Service at this interval includes everything done at the 30k interval, plus it also should include the changing of all fluids. Often, the timing belt and brakes should be replaced at the 60k service level, too.

Generally, your car should be serviced once a year or every 10,000-12,000 miles. A full service is highly recommended although if the vehicle is regularly serviced then a basic service will help to keep it running smoothly and hassle-free.
