Engine Clean

Most mechanics recommend keeping your engine clean and grease-free for several good reasons. First, motors are not supposed to have leaks or even grease build up on the surface. Oil on the outside of the engine causes lots of problems. First, the motor relies on air flowing over the metal to keep it cool. As the motor becomes covered with oil and dirt, it starts to act like an insulator and makes the motor run hotter than normal and prevents cooling during normal driving. Second, oil and grease destroys the plastic coating on electrical wires and gradually eats away at the rubber hoses. Thirdly, when the motor is clean, leaks can be easily determined and preventative maintenance can be done.

Our standard engine steam cleaning service cleans the top of the motor and the bottom. This service is designed to primarily find oil leaks. When a motor has had an oil leak for a while, the general area becomes coated from the dirt that sticks to the fresh oil. These leaks can be difficult to detect because of the amount of buildup that occurs over time. Not only does the oil drip down the engine, but the air fan blows the oil horizontally, and over time, most of the engine can get coated. A TOP AND BOTTOM cleaning solve that problem. Once the motor is clean, the mechanic can exactly identify where the leak is and fix it. If you forego getting the motor steam clean, the mechanic has to start engine cleaning, car detailing, Calgary fixing one thing after the next in hopes of eventually stopping the leak. Or worse, he fixes everything that can possibly be leaking. The lesson learned is to spend the extra upfront and clean the motor before you take it to the mechanic. Most mechanics would prefer to fix the problem the first time, but when there are several possible leaks, he can only guess at where it is coming from. A clean motor makes oil leaks extremely easy to find.

We also provide a TOP ONLY cleaning that is more for improving the appearance of the engine compartment. Frequently, we clean the top of the engine compartment during our detailing projects. In this service, we are cleaning the underside of the hood and the area we can clean from the top. The motors look nearly new when we finish.

The BOTTOM ONLY motor cleaning is for finding leaks on the bottom of the motor. This service is designed to clean the area where the leak is coming from, and less to find the leak.
